5 Things to do in Austin This Fourth of July Weekend

As the country re-awakens from a long year in lockdown, there’s more to celebrate this Fourth of July than ever before. Read on to discover five spectacular events taking place in Austin this Independence Day weekend.

FourthFest

When: Sunday, July 4th at 10 AM
Where: Katherine Fleischer Park, located at 2106 Klattenhoff Drive in Austin
Admission: Free

FourthFest returns for a full day of celebration, kicking things off with a Fourth of July parade beginning at 10 AM. The parade will feature a variety of floats and festivities for guests to enjoy, followed by the FourthFest Concert at 6 PM and the annual FourthFest Fireworks Display at 9 PM. Fireworks will be launched from the soccer field, located near the Recreation Center.

July 4th Weekend Celebration at Geraldine’s

When: Friday, July 1st through Sunday, July 4th from 8-11 PM
Where: Geraldine’s  Austin inside the Hotel Van Zandt, located at 605 Davis Street in Austin
Admission: Free

Hosted on the 4th floor rooftop bar of the luxurious Hotel Van Zandt, Geraldine’s Austin will be home to live blues performances throughout the 4th of July weekend. The showcase will include performances by Jo James, Black Whitemire, Vin Mott and Paul Val. In addition to live music, guests can enjoy rooftop views of the fireworks display on  Sunday, July 4th, from 9:30 to 10 PM.

Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Festival

When: Sunday, July 4th from 4-10 PM
Where: Hill Country Galleria, located at 12700 Hill Country Blvd in Bee Cave
Admission: Free

The Independence Day festival at the Hill Country Galleria will feature a wide array of art vendors, boutiques and merchants from the local Hill Country area. In addition to fantastic shopping and dining opportunities throughout the Galleria, live musical performances will liven up the Central Plaza with a lineup featuring Fastball, Vallejo, The Deer, White Ghost Shivers and School of Rock. The event will conclude at nightfall with a spectacular fireworks display. Parking is free.

Bob Schneider’s Independence Day Celebration

When: Saturday, July 3rd, all evening
Where: Nutty Brown Amphitheatre, located at 12225 Highway 290 West in Austin
Admission: $35-$115

An annual Austin favorite, this musical event features musician Bob Schneider, along with special guests Lex Land and Danny Malone. The concert will conclude with a special fireworks show, and the performances are tailored for all ages. No outside food, drinks, containers or blankets are permitted inside the venue.

Austin Symphony H-E-B July 4th Concert & Fireworks

When: Sunday, July 4th at 8 PM
Where: Vic Mathias Shores, 900 West Riverside Drive in Austin
Admission: Free

Spend Fourth of July evening under the stars, with a program of symphonic performances featuring patriotic classics. This event is Austin’s largest Independence Day celebration, planned and performed exclusively by the Austin Symphony Orchestra. The concert begins at 8pm, and will conclude with an evening fireworks display above the scenic Lady Bird Lake. Additional viewing options for the display include Congress Bridge and the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge.
