Austin For Animal Lovers

There’s something for everyone to experience in the wonder of Austin’s wildlife. Some attractions allow you to view the creatures in their natural habitats, while others are made to let you interact with the animals up close and personal.

Explore a “shipwrecked” boat and see animals such as shrimp, nautiluses, and giant jellyfish that swim under mesmerizing color-changing lights. Blue Cat Café

CLOSED

The concept of cat cafes was popularized in Japan, but has recently found its way to America. Blue Cat Cafe serves as a refuge for local cats seeking shelter and food. Visitors are typically expected to purchase a drink in order to visit with the cafe’s twenty cats.

Crowe’s Nest Farm

While Austin itself is a large urban city, it’s surrounded by farm country. These farms provide opportunities for animal lovers to feed and spend time with adorable creatures in a more natural habitat than many zoos would provide. Crow’s Nest is home to as many as 250 domesticated animals, on a property of around 100 acres. The farm’s residents include goats, pigs, horses and rare miniature mules, as well as salamanders, snakes and other small reptiles. One of the best zoos near Austin TX with none of the downsides.

The zoo offers children the chance to interact with small, furry animals including bunnies, chinchillas, hedgehogs and baby ducks. Every third Wednesday is free admission day, and the zoo can be rented for small parties and get-togethers as well.
