A 3-Day Feast in Austin, Texas

A long weekend in Austin may not be enough to see everything, but it’s an excellent start. Wherever you venture, you’ll need plenty of hearty meals to fuel your daily adventures. Read on to discover our “foodie’s itinerary”, with meal plan options for a full three days in Austin, Texas.

Day One

Austin is famous for its tacos; surprisingly served as a breakfast food in many locations. For lunch, try some local food at a nearby picnic area, charging your appetite with a breath of fresh air. For supper, class things up with a bite at one of the high-end downtown establishments. You’re sure to find something to suit your tastes, but you may want to book in advance.

Day two

Plenty of local cafes serve indulgent breakfast fare, such as ricotta hotcakes with bananas, pecan butter and maple syrup. This energy bomb will be the perfect kickstart to your second day in  Austin. A day of shopping could be paired with some great homemade cuisine, found at one of the farmers markets located near the downtown shopping district. Spend the evening amid Austin’s famous bars, and soak in the local music scene with some excellent, home-cooked barbeque.

Day Three

Wrap up your vacation with one last delicious breakfast. Try Holly Rinker, with their cookies-and-cream pancakes. Finish the day with a tour of one of Austin’s famous wineries–many offer tastings, followed by dinner at adjacent high-end restaurants.
