5 Events to Enjoy This Easter Weekend

Easter weekend is upon us, and Austin is chock-full of safe, socially-distanced events for the entire family to enjoy. Consider today’s list your personal Easter basket, full of festive springtime cheer.

Please note: the celebrations on today’s list may require advance registration, and are subject to COVID precautions at the discretion of event organizers. 

Easter Brunch-to-Go

When: Saturday, April 3rd and Sunday, April 4th, 2021
Where: The University of Texas Club, located at 2108 Robert Dedman Drive

The University of Texas Club is offering a 12-course brunch kit for this year’s Easter holiday. Kits include mouthwatering fare such as mixed baby greens, jumbo shrimp cocktail, brown sugar-glazed smoked ham and sliced carrot cake. The kits feed between 5-6 adults and prices start at $195.

Curbside pickup is available on Saturday, April 3rd from 2 PM to 5 PM. Orders should be placed in advance. To order your kit, or to place a reservation for Easter Sunday brunch onsite at the Club, contact the UT Club team at [email protected]

Easter Outdoor Gathering 2021

When: Sunday, April 4th at 10 AM
Where: Lively Middle School, 201 East Mary Street
Admission: Free

Restore Austin’s in-person egg hunt returns this year for a morning of family-friendly outdoor fun. Kids will be divided into age groups to collect a staggering 1,500 Easter eggs, filled to bursting with toys and treats. Families are encouraged to bring along their own lawn chairs, picnic baskets, sunscreen and snacks. Bags will be provided for egg-hunting.

Guests may park along Mary Street, or in the public lot located on East Mary  Street and Brackenridge. Simply follow the banners and signs towards the football field.

PT Ride for Love Easter Egg Hunt

When: Sunday, April 4th 12 PM to 2 PM
Where: Violet Crown Clubhouse & Project Transitions, located at 7100 Woodrow Avenue in Austin
Admission: $10 donation fee per person

This outdoor, socially-distanced egg hunt allows attendees to ride their bikes along a course filled with treats, gift cards and prizes donated by  Shale’s Body Shop, Kinokuniya Austin, Voodoo Donuts, Dulce Neve, Epoch Coffee, Top Drawer, Michi Ramen, Eco Clean, Evolve Cryo + Wellness and Black Star Co-Op.

The event is hosted by Ride4Love as part of Hill Country Ride for Aids charity campaign. HCRA has raised more than $10,000,000 for Austin citizens affected by HIV and AIDS.

Participants can check in near the outdoor seating area of the Violet Crown Clubhouse. The biking route is around 5 miles long, and bikers are invited to download the course to their mobile devices via RideWithGPS.

Children’s Easter Scramble

When: Saturday, April 3rd, all day
Where: Pioneer Farms, located at 10621 Pioneer Farms Drive
Admission: $10 per person

The Children’s Easter Scramble is hosted by Pioneer Farms: a living history museum providing educational workshops for students and adults, along with an array of seasonal events. For the Easter Scramble, children will be divided into age groups for timed egg hunts. A children’s music event will also take place in the historic Wessels Dance Hall, and guests can have their photo taken with a variety of costumed Easter characters.

In addition to this special holiday event, all farmsteads and exhibits onsite will be open as well. Tickets can be purchased online at Pioneer’s official website. The event will take place rain or shine.

Easter Eggstravaganza

When: Saturday, April 3rd from 10 AM to 12 PM
Where: Riverbend Church, located at 4214 North Capital of Texas Highway
Admission: Free

The Eggstravaganza is open to egg hunters of all ages. The event will feature family games, prizes, treats by Kona Ice and a whopping 10,000 Easter eggs to track down and enjoy.Families can stop by the check-in table upon arrival, to receive a welcome bag full of additional goodies. Admission to the event is free, but donations to the church are welcome.
